“Oh my God, yeah! Scott Pilgrim is the best,” Mark said. “That film means so much to me. Every single person that worked on that film still means so much to me and is a part of my life. And to have reconnected with everyone recently — we did a read for charity, for Water for People … and it was so rad to see everyone after these ten years — which is crazy to all of us that it’s been ten years. What the f**k? How did that happen?”

Webber revealed that he and the cast knew at the time they were making something special.

“I knew at the time — we all knew,” he said. “Yeah, it didn’t make the amount of money it was supposed to make at the box office, but we all knew we made a really incredible, special film. And so it feels extra special now having seen the generations of fans and the cult status the film has achieved is just so rad.”

The actor then spoke about how he experienced the film as both a participant and a fan. “It’s cool to be able to watch a film that you’re in and feel that way. Every time I watch the movie it’s just so enjoyable. And being able to play my Sex Ba-Bomb albums in the car for the kids. They’re like, ‘That’s really you dad?’ And I’m like, yeah! It’s pretty awesome. I’m bragging to my pre-teen son that I’ve got 11 million streams on Spotify! Sex Ba-Bomb, this fictional band, actually ended up succeeding. It’s really a cool kick.”

Finally, he ended by reiterating his love for cast and crew and his hope that Scott Pilgrim will continue to thrive in the annals of pop culture.

“I love everyone on that film – we all have this really cool love for each other. And it’s really cool to see so many people rediscovering it and keeping it alive. It’s a bummer because the plan was it was going to hit theaters and be re-released, but then this situation we’re all in right now has turned everything upside down. It’s still nice that, despite the re-release not happening, it’s still being honored again.”

Even though the film had a poor box office performance, it had still earned positive reviews from critics and has amassed quite a cult following. Even though a sequel is off the table, Edgar Wright has instead revealed that there are talks currently happening about a potential animated spinoff series.
