J.K. Simmons says his next J. Jonah Jameson cameo has already been filmed
Earlier this month, Oscar winner J.K. Simmons revealed that fans should expect more of his return as J. Jonah Jameson in future MCU/SUMC films following his surprise appearance in the post-credits scene of last year’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. In a recent interview on SiriusXM‘s The Jess Cagle Show which you can listen to below, the Marvel alum continues to tease fans about his future appearances in upcoming Marvel movies, confirming that he has already finished filming his next cameo. However, it remains unclear if his new cameo would be featured in a new MCU movie or perhaps another SPUMC movie.
“Well yeah, [I’ll be back as Jameson] that’s the short answer,” Simmons said. “There is a future for J. Jonah Jameson after a several-year hiatus. He showed up very briefly for those who were wise enough to stay through the credits of Far from Home… There is one more JJJ appearance in the can, and from what I’m hearing there’s a plan for yet another. So hopefully JJJ will continue now and forever.”

Tom Holland will return for the film as the titular wall-crawler, and it remains to be seen what villains he’ll go up against in the trilogy caper. Given the ending of Far From Home, however, any number of his rogues gallery are likely eager for a fight. The third installment to the MCU’s Spider-Man films will also feature the return of Zendaya (Euphoria, Dune) as MJ. Holland’s Spider-Man is also set to appear in another Marvel Studios film per the new agreement.
The third Spider-Man film from Marvel Studios is set for a November 5, 2021 release, officially adding another addition to the already crowded Phase 4 release slate. Sony’s upcoming Spidey slate includes Venom: Let There Be Carnage, starring Tom Hardy and directed by Andy Serkis, as well as Jared Leto’s in-the-can Morbius, a Kraven the Hunter film, and a spinoff featuring Silver Sable and Black Cat. Should these films interact with the MCU and Tom Holland, it remains to be seen, but the door seems open.
