The prequel comic, Wonder Woman 1984 No. 1, will feature two stories, one from Louise Simonson (The Death of Superman) and WW84 associate producer Anna Obropta that sees the titular hero deal with a hostage situation at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, while the second from Steve Pugh and Marguerite Sauvage sees a villain attempt to steal Diana’s lasso. The cover artwork for the comic is designed by Nicola Scott, who previously worked with The Old Guard creator Greg Rucka to develop the Wonder Woman: Year One arc in 2016.
Wonder Woman 1984 No. 1 is set to hit shelves in Walmart on September 20 followed by a wide digital and comic book store release on September 29, one week ahead of the sequel’s October 2 theatrical release!
