As the time quickly approaches for the release of the festival horror hit, ComingSoon.net has received an exclusive clip from The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw, which is set to hit select theaters later this week! The clip can be viewed in the player below!
RELATED: Exclusive The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw Trailer!
The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw explores the disturbed bond between Audrey, an enigmatic young woman, and Agatha, her domineering mother, who live secretly as occultists on the outskirts of a remote Protestant village. Following an ominous encounter between Agatha and a grieving townsman, and a rare sighting of Audrey by a local, Agatha’s authority crumbles as Audrey asserts her dominance. Meanwhile, hysteria mounts within the community as a mysterious pestilence spreads throughout the fields and livestock, yet the Earnshaw farm remains strangely unaffected.
The cast for the film includes Catherine Walker (A Dark Song), Jared Abrahamson (Travelers), Hannah Emily Anderson (The Purge), Geraldine O’Rawe (Seven & Me), Don McKellar (Sensitive Skin), Sean McGinley (The Alienist: Angel of Darkness) and Jessica Reynolds in her feature acting debut in the titular role.
The film is written and directed by Thomas Robert Lee, with Gianna Isabella producing while Lee executive produces alongside Marie-Claude Poulin, James Mahoney, Bill Marks, Diwya Shahani, George Mihalka, Susan Curran, Patrick Ewald and Shaked Berenson. Nick Thomas acts as cinematographer for the film while Ben Lee Allen is editor and Thilo Schaller and Bryan Buss compose the music for the pic.
“I wanted to tell a story about legacy, and to specifically explore it within the context of a folk horror narrative,” Lee said in a statement. “The community grows increasingly desperate as their given circumstances grow dire. In reality, the pandemic appears to have amplified hatred and xenophobia, or at least the voices of those spewing hate speech. Obviously there is a world of difference between my screenplay and the very real ramifications of the pandemic, but the similarities, however surface-level they may be, have certainly been on my mind these past months.”

Firestarter centers on an organization called the Department of Scientific Intelligence, aka “The Shop.” Two participants in their mysterious research program end up getting married and having a child. Their offspring, Charlie McGee, inherited pyrokinetic powers from her parents, who were given a low-grade hallucinogen called “Lot Six” during their college years. Now the government is trying to apprehend the young Charlie in order to harness her powerful and unique skills as a weapon.

While chatting with the star for her upcoming film The Call in which she stars alongside fellow horror genre icon Tobin Bell (Saw franchise), ComingSoon.net explored the state of the Insidious franchise and the possibility of her return for a fifth installment in the Leigh Whannell-penned series.

Word first began circling last year that Whannell (The Invisible Man), James Wan (Aquaman) and producer Jason Blum were in talks about developing a new story for the series and after expressing doubt earlier this year as to her potential return, Shaye confirms that she’s not heard word about another film, though chalks it up more to the state of the world than a disinterest in the franchise.
“I think everybody is so preoccupied with the horror of our own society, we’re in a horror film right now of sorts,” Shaye laughed. “There was some thought at one point that James had about another Insidious, but I’ve heard nothing. I think everybody’s preoccupied. I’m good with whatever, if we come back, I’m in The Further this time, so that will be different.”

Though her time may or may not be at an end for the box office hit franchise, the 76-year-old expressed she felt “honored” the lengths at which Whannell, Wan and The Last Key director Adam Robitel went to explore her paranormal investigating Elise and that she’s ready to continue if everyone else is.
“It was a really beautiful arc for me to find as the character and in the storyline,” Shaye warmly described. “Right now it’s all about The Call and I hope Insidious has provided me with a beautiful frame work to remember right now. Now it’s in my memory and I would love it if there was another one, of course, but we’ll see.”

The first film hit theaters in April 2011 and was a major success, earning generally positive reviews from critics and audiences and scaring up just under $100 million at the box office. According to Deadline, Actor and stuntman Daniel Bernhardt (John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Altered Carbon) is reprising his role as Agent Johnson in The Matrix 4, who last played the character in 2003’s The Matrix Reloaded and also voiced the character in the video game Enter the Matrix.

Lana Wachowski co-wrote the script with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell, and will direct the film as well. Academy-Award winning cinematographer John Toll (Legends of the Fall, Braveheart) will shoot the highly-anticipated sequel, succeeding Bill Pope who was the cinematographer for The Matrix trilogy.
The Matrix 4 will be featuring the return of Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Jada Pinkett Smith, reprising their iconic roles as Neo, Trinity and Niobe. The film will also star newcomers Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Toby Onwumere, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who is rumored to be playing young Morpheus. It was recently teased that should scheduling work out, Lambert Wilson could possibly return for The Matrix 4 as the villain the Merovingian.
Plot details on the fourth live-action film in The Matrix franchise haven’t been revealed, and given the ending of 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions it’s not a clear cut answer.

Last year we asked our readers if they were interested in more movies in the series, with 69% of those voting saying “Yes!” In a secondary poll, 58% said they wanted to see a continuation of the series. Looks like they’ll be getting what they wanted!
The three previous films—The Matrix (1999), The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003)—have earned more than $1.6 billion at the global box office and were all top-10 domestic hits in their respective years of release. The Matrix Revolutions was also the first film ever to release simultaneously in every major country at the same hour around the world.
Originally scheduled for a May 21, 2021 release, The Matrix 4 has now been pushed back to April 1, 2022, due to the temporary production shutdown caused by the ongoing pandemic.

Though plot details are currently being kept under wraps, the sequel subtitled Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan, will reportedly follow the Kazakh journalist as he goes undercover to interview people after getting recognition following the release of the original film.
Baron Cohen kept the production of the film way below the radar, hoping to have the film ready in time to release before Election Day to help suade American audiences to properly vote in the forthcoming Presidential election, only to see word leak shortly after it wrapped that CAA Media Finance had screened it for possible distributors in search of a deal. With original studio, Fox Searchlight Pictures, being absorbed by Disney in the studio merger and theatrical releases still not entirely viable with the pandemic still underway, the 48-year-old writer/star and Amazon Studios elected to release it on Amazon Prime to reach a wide audience and get the message out in time for voting with its October 23 bow.

In Sylvie’s Love, the jazz is smooth and the air sultry in the hot New York summer of 1957. Robert (Nnamdi Asomugha), a saxophonist, spends late nights playing behind a less-talented but well-known bandleader, as a member of a jazz quartet. Sylvie (Tessa Thompson), who dreams of a career in television, spends her summer days helping around her father’s record store, as she waits for her fiancé to return from war. When Robert takes a part-time job at the record store, the two begin a friendship that sparks a deep passion in each of them unlike anything they have felt before.
As the summer winds down, life takes them in different directions, bringing their relationship to an end. Years pass, Sylvie’s career as a TV producer blossoms, while Robert has to come to terms with what the age of Motown is doing to the popularity of Jazz. In a chance meeting, Sylvie and Robert cross paths again, only to find that while their lives have changed, their feelings for each other remain the same. Writer/director Eugene Ashe combines romance and music into a sweeping story that brings together changing times, a changing culture, and the true price of love.
The movie also stars Eva Longoria, Aja Naomi King, Wendi Mclendon-Covey, and Jemima Kirke and is written and directed by Eugene Ashe.
