The documentary offers an unprecedented look behind the scenes of two of the most iconic Presidents in American History, Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan, as seen through the eyes of renowned photographer Pete Souza. As the Official White House Photographer, Souza was an eyewitness to the unique and tremendous responsibilities of being the most powerful person on Earth. The movie reveals how Souza transforms from a respected photojournalist to a searing commentator on the issues we face as a country and a people.

The film is helmed and produced by Dawn Porter, the winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival for her pro-choice documentary Trapped, with Oscar and Emmy-winning producer Evan Hayes (Free Solo), Oscar and Emmy winner Laura Dern (Marriage Story) and Jayme Lemons attached to produce via the duo’s Jaywalker Pictures banner in association with Platform One Media.

The Way I See It was originally set to have its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival before it was cancelled due to the global pandemic and instead is now available in select theaters and set to debut on MSNBC on Friday!
