According to Variety, Apple has entered negotiations to acquire Skydance Animation’s first two animated films titled Spellbound, and Luck with the studio still hoping to give both films theatrical releases before possibly making their respective streaming debuts on Apple TV+. Paramount Pictures was previously attached to distribute the John Lasseter-produced features and had slated Luck for a February 18, 2022 release and Spellbound for a November 11, 2022 release. It unclear if the potential deal could affect the films’ original theatrical dates.
