Zack Snyder’s Justice League: Check Out Two New Images From the Upcoming Film!

Amidst all the drama surrounding Ray Fisher, Warner Bros. and Wonder Woman 1984, two new images from Zack Snyder’s Justice League popped up online. One is merely a closer look at Darkseid, or Uxas, as he was known at the time this particular still takes place, while the other is a new image of Steppenwolf. You can check out the images below!

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will reportedly cost around $70 million in order to properly finish the editing and visual effects of the director’s original vision, as well as the additional photography. The original post-production crew is also expected to return along with the cast members to record additional dialogue for the cut.

It was revealed at DC FanDome that the movie will release on HBO Max in 2021 by being broken up into four one-hour parts that will also be released as one four-hour film.

Fueled by the hero’s restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Justice League sees Bruce Wayne enlist the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League, which features a screenplay from Chris Terrio from a story by Snyder and Terrio, stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, with J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

Released in November 2017, the film earned mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike, praising the action and performances from Gadot and Miller while criticizing every other aspect of the film, namely the inconsistent tone that many fault Joss Whedon (The Avengers) for after taking over directorial duties from Snyder. With a large budget of $300 million and a break-even point of $750 million, the film is considered a box office bomb having grossed only $658 million.

10 Dance Moves That Will Never Be Used Again

10 Dance Moves That Will Never Be Used Again

10 Dance Moves That Will Never Be Used Again

You have to admire when a questionable dance move is whipped out on the big screen. A top tier actor with his/her career on the line decides to go for it and show off that little nugget that used back at the high school prom. Take a look at some quirky, quasi-embarrassing, but nevertheless admirable moves in the gallery below!

Dance has always been a cornerstone of popular culture, much in the same way as cinema; when you combine these two things, the sky is the limit. That being said, a good dance move can be immortalized on the screen…and so can a bad one (subjectively). These types of movement can bring a film to life in unexpected ways—especially in the case of musicals and pictures that use dance often. Other films, ones that aren’t even remotely in the same genre as a musical or dance obsessed feature (Footloose, Step Up, etc.), incorporate dance in a very tongue in cheek, organic, sometimes even moving way.

When one feels a good beat coursing through their body, they move in weird ways; ways that are unique to that particular individual and moment: arms flail, hips gyrate and kicks seemingly come out of nowhere. Other characters watch in awe of whoever it is that has just taken center stage. As these characters come up with moves that are uniquely their own, they appear ridiculous and free. The word “bad” is about to be used here; however, that in no way reflects a lack of creative appreciation—here’s a collection of some memorably (bad) dance moves that have been used on the silver screen over the years…and will probably never be used again.

It’s been three years since Oscar nominee Alex Garland stepped behind the camera for the film world and now he’s making his way back to the feature world as he’s set his next project, Men, at A24 with Jessie Buckley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things) and Rory Kinnear (Penny Dreadful) in talks to star, according to Deadline.

The film, on which Garland will both write and direct, centers on a young woman who goes on a solo vacation to the English countryside following the death of her ex-husband. Sources report that Garland began putting together the project last year, meeting with various talent for the central role in the film that would become highly sought-after by rising stars in film before landing on Buckley and though her deal has yet to finalize, indications are that talks are in a positive direction and nearing a close. After choosing Buckley for the role, Garland quickly eyed Kinnear to expand his cast.

The project is being produced by Scott Rudin, who has previously produced his other feature projects and FX miniseries Devs, alongside Eli Bush and DNA’s Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich, with A24 set to finance and distribute the film.

Men will also mark Garland’s reunion with the acclaimed indie production company behind it with whom he previously worked on his feature directorial debut, the Oscar-winning Ex Machina in 2014. The 50-year-old writer/director followed it up with the 2018 adaptation of the sci-fi horror novel Annihilation for Paramount Pictures which, despite flopping at the box office, received rave reviews from critics.

The Reckoning Trailer: Fear spreads like the plague

After having its premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival in August, RLJE Films has unveiled the first trailer and poster for Neil Marshall’s upcoming adventure horror pic The Reckoning warning that fear can spread like the plague. The trailer and poster can be viewed below!

Co-written by director Marshall, Charlotte Kirk and Edward Evers-Swindell, the film follows Grace Haverstock (Kirk) after she loses her husband during the Great Plague and find herself falsely accuse of being a witch and placed in the custody of England’s most ruthless witch-hunter, Judge Moorcroft. Forced to endure physical and emotional torture while steadfastly maintaining her innocence, Grace must face her own inner demons as the Devil himself starts to work his way into her mind.

Alongside Kirk, the cast for the film includes Sean Pertwee (Gotham), Steven Waddington (The Imitation Game), Joe Anderson (Outsiders), Rick Warden (Casualty) and Mark Ryan (Transformers: The Last Knight).

The Reckoning was initially born out of a desire to spin a good yarn that would chill and thrill in equal measure,” Marshall and Kirk said in a statement. “We love the idea of scaring the hell out of audiences and wanted to make something truly terrifying, but also unlike anything we’d seen before. As part of the creative process we did a ton of research, and the more we unearthed about the horrific trials and tribulations thousands of women were forced to endure, we felt this story should carry a more powerful message along with the scares. So, The Reckoning is as much about female empowerment as it is about Witch Hunts and the Great Plague of 1665. And, of course, when making the movie in 2019 we had no idea the world was about to be brought to its knees by a modern-day plague, and how that would add to the many reasons this movie is so relevant for today’s audience. But above all, it’s a scary, entertaining and suspenseful thrill-ride and we can’t wait for you to see it.”

The Reckoning is set to hit theaters, digital platforms and VOD on February 5.

Michael Jai White Reveals Original Plans for Gambol in The Dark Knight

Michael Jai White Reveals Original Plans for Gambol in The Dark Knight

Here’s an interesting story for you Dark Knight fans. According to Michael Jai White, the villain Gambol was meant to have a larger role in future Batman films, but everything changed when Heath Ledger died. At least, that’s what the actor revealed while promoting his new movie, Batman: Soul of the Dragon.

Click here to pre-order Batman: Soul of the Dragon before it drops on Digital HD January 12!

“I was told about the plan for Gambol to come back and try and take over Gotham City. I think a lot of those plans got scrapped after what happened to Heath,” White reveals. “I don’t know. I was never told directly why the change was made. For anybody who sees the movie, you know there was kind of an obtuse cut where you don’t know what happened to my character.

“You know, there’s a knife in my mouth and next I’m on the floor. With a movie with a budget that size, there’s seldom any grey moments [Laughs]. My character wasn’t written to die, that’s why that weird editing is there. It was never intended as a death scene.”

Fans will remember that Gambol (allegedly) met his fate at the hands of the Joker during the famous “why so serious” scene. At any rate, the actor revealed that the experience was a decidedly mixed one due to Ledger’s passing.

“Well, it’s a little bitter-sweet because Heath is no longer with us,” the actor told to ComicBookMovie.com when asked about his experience filming the movie. “It’s hard for me to say, ‘It was great’ knowing the outcome shortly after. It was a great opportunity to work with someone like Christopher Nolan. That was amazing. To be around such genius, who were just so…regular. Christopher Nolan and Heath Ledger are so amazing, but also some of the most down to Earth people you ever want to meet. That was really the bonus in working on that movie.”

An all-new original animated film, Batman: Soul Of The Dragon does a deep dive into Elseworlds vibes by putting Batman in the midst of the swinging 1970s. Faced with a deadly menace from his past, and along with his mentor O-Sensei (voiced by James Hong, Big Trouble in Little China), Bruce Wayne must enlist the help of three former classmates – world-renowned martial artists Richard Dragon, Ben Turner, and Lady Shiva – to battle the monsters of this world and beyond. The film is rated R for some violence.

The all-new next entry in the DC Universe Movies canon is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Harp’s expectations of guarding a fence are upended when his new commanding officer Captain Leo announces plans to infiltrate the demilitarized zone and apprehend Viktor Koval, a warlord who intends to launch a network of dormant nuclear weapons. Zack Snyder Reveals Which Marvel Character Would Get Him to Join the MCU

In a recent interview with ComicBook Debate (via Screen Rant), Man of Steel director Zack Snyder was asked which Marvel character would he like to direct in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Snyder revealed that he is interested in adapting a new Elektra film which would specifically center around Frank Miller and Lynn Varely’s 1990 graphic novel titled Elektra Lives Again.

“I would choose Elektra Lives Again. Do you know that Frank Miller comic book? It’s a graphic novel about Elektra. Daredevil is having these dreams about Elektra coming back to life, and it’s really cool and weird…It’s just cool, and beautiful. That’s what I would do. No one cares, but that’s what I would do.” Snyder said.

Created by Frank Miller in 1981, Elektra Natchios is a trained assassin who is known for wielding a pair of sai. She is the love interest of Daredevil, who often times act as a villain due to her mercenary ways. In Elektra Lives Again, which is a spinoff of Miller’s Daredevil run, Matt Murdock is haunted by dreams of the assassin’s apparent resurrection.

Should Marvel Studios indeed decided to finally introduce Elektra into the MCU, it would be the third live-action iteration of the character following Jennifer Garner and Elodie Yung’s portrayals in the Daredevil & Elektra films and the Daredevil series, respectively. However, if the speculations about Charlie Cox’s return as the Man Without Fear in the long-awaited third MCU Spider-Man film are proven, it’s interesting to see if Marvel Studio would also try to bring back Elodie Yung’s Elektra.

Zack Snyder is best known for his work in films such as Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch, Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. There Are Only Two New Scenes In Zack Snyder’s Justice League Cut

There Are Only Two New Scenes In Zack Snyder’s Justice League Cut

HBO Max may be getting all of Warner Bros. Pictures’ theatrical releases day and date this year, but its most anticipated project remains Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The director recently summoned several cast members to shoot additional scenes for the film. However, the new scenes may not be as extensive as originally thought. Via Comic Book Movie, Snyder told Comic Book Debate that only two of those scenes are new.

“A very small portion of the movie is the new stuff that I shot,” said Snyder. “Like 80-something percent of the movie has never been seen by anyone, visual effects wise, and that’s not even including the scenes that you guys have never seen that don’t have visual effects. That part’s really exciting, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience this giant scale adventure the way I intended.”

Synder also indicated that one of the two scenes involved Jared Leto’s Joker.

“First of all, let’s just clarify, there’s like two bits that I added,” continued Snyder. “One bit that I had really sort of hoped to shoot in post but never got the chance to, and then one scene with Jared. This whole little piece with Jared. The truth is, the rest of the four hours of the movie are really just what I shot.”

“The truth is I was in a struggle with the studio, you know, and famously we had a lot of stuff we had to do, and make it funny, and all that stuff,” added Snyder. “I just kind of, in a slightly subversive way, just kept also doing my thing at the same time so I would have, what I believed would be closer to what I wanted to do without any influence.”

Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut will hit HBO Max in March 2021. Additionally, it will be released in four episodes that will run one hour each.

James Wan’s return to horror Malignant scores R-rating

A month after it was announced that the film would receive a simultaneous theatrical and HBO Max release alongside Warner Bros.’ other films, James Wan’s return to the horror genre Malignant has now earned an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association for “Strong horror violence, gruesome images, and for language,” according to Bloody Disgusting.

RELATED: Knight Rider: James Wan & Spyglass Adapting Classic 80s Series into Film

Originally scheduled for an August 14, 2020 release date, Malignant was moved by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema to an indefinite date due to the ongoing pandemic. The film will be Wan’s first non-Conjuring horror collaboration with the two studios, and principal photography wrapped late last year.

Malignant will star Annabelle Wallis (Annabelle), Jake Abel (Supernatural), George Young (Containment), Maddie Hasson (Mr. Mercedes), Michole Briana White (Encino Man), Jacqueline McKenzie (Pine Gap) and McKenna Grace (Annabelle Comes Home).

The film, whose plot is being kept under wraps, is based on a story co-written by Wan and his fiance Ingrid Bisu, who starred in The Nun and recently got engaged to the 42-year-old Australian director. Wan will also produce the film through his Atomic Monster banner alongside Michael Clear. The film is being financed through Starlight Media and Midas Innovation, who will distribute in China as New Line handles the remaining distribution. Malignant seemingly has no relation to the James Wan penned graphic novel Malignant Man, previously set up as a feature film at Fox, though given the titles it’s not a stretch to imagine a connection.

The latest horror film from Wan is currently slated for an unknown 2021 simultaneous theatrical and HBO Max release, as Warner Bros. will be doing with all of their films this year, and with the rating now secured chances are high fans can look forward to a trailer in the near future.
