Horror anthology franchise V/H/S getting reboot!
It’s been six years since the Bloody Disgusting-produced horror anthology franchise V/H/S came to a close with the poorly-received trilogy closer, Viral, but now it’s set to make a comeback as The Hollywood Reporter has brought word a reboot entitled V/H/S 94 is currently in the works.

The film is being written, developed and produced by David Bruckner (The Night House), who previously worked on the first film in the series on the highly-acclaimed segment “Amateur Night,” which was spun off into the well-received horror-thriller Siren in 2016. The reboot will also feature the return of filmmaking collective Radio Silence, who directed the “10/31/98” segment of the first film and also worked alongside Bruckner on the well-received horror anthology Southbound. The Ready or Not filmmakers, who were recently confirmed to be helming the next film in the Scream franchise, will produce the film alongside Bruckner.
The roster of directors set to helm segments of the reboot include Simon Barrett (You’re Next, The Guest), who helmed segments in the first and second films as well as starring in the first, Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes For Us) and newcomer Chloe Okuno, with the producers currently in talks for other filmmakers to join.
Though plot details are unknown at this time, sources report V/H/S 94 will be the first film to feature a “single, fluid narrative” that connects all of the segments together compared to its predecessors’ being composed of a wrap-around frame narrative with the shorts being separate from the main story.

Alongside Bruckner and Radio Silence, co-creator of the franchise and founder of Bloody Disgusting Brad Miska is set to produce the film with Josh Goldbloom and Parinda Patel of Cinepocalypse Productions and Studio71, while Michael Paszt, James Fler and Andrew Hunt are set to executive produce. Raven Banner Entertainment is set to handle worldwide sales for the project and is introducing it to the virtual Cannes market this week.
