J.K. Simmons Says There Is ‘A Distinct Chance’ We See More of His J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man 3

J.K. Simmons Says There Is A ‘Distinct Chance’ We See More of His J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man 3

One of the highlights of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home was the surprising cameo by J.K. Simmons as editor-in-chief of The Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson. In a recent interview with Collider, Simmons revealed that he is optimistic future Spidey films will feature his take on the character.

“There is a distinct chance, there have been discussions, and I’m not going to say anything definitive [laughter] because I don’t know if I’m allowed to. But yes, I’m very optimistic that I’ll have some more J.J.J. in my future.”

Simmons then went on to talk about the cameo which happened very quickly after a meeting with Marvel executives.

“The only thing we didn’t a hundred percent see eye to eye on, I think, was how much is this character going to be the character from, I think, the comic books and from the Sam Raimi original trilogy, and how much do we want to evolve it and to have it be more contemporary or more… you know.”

Despite his yearning to retread his previous performance — why else would you cast him if you didn’t want that J. Jonah Jameson — the actor eventually came to terms on a more contemporary take. Read: a bald version of the character.

“Which I think honestly, that decision might’ve just been them going, ‘We don’t have time to make a wig. We got to shoot him tomorrow in the office,’” explained Simmons. “So, J. Jonah Jameson either lost his hair in the last few years, or he was wearing a hairpiece the whole time. I don’t know, you pick.”

Spidey fans remember all too well the actor’s spot-on portrayal of the character in Sam Raimi’s original trilogy of films, so it was cool to see Simmons reprise a role he was clearly born to play. Hopefully, there is more to come!

Spider-Man: Far From Home is directed by Jon Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers and based on a Marvel Comic book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The film is produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal. Executive Producers are Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Thomas M. John Powell Announces Expanded Score for Solo: A Star Wars Story!

John Powell Announces Expanded Score for Solo: A Star Wars Story!

Composer John Powell announced on his Instagram page the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story: The Deluxe Edition, which will feature over two hours of his original score for the Ron Howard film! Check out the full announcement below.

Here’s what Powell wrote on his post: “Solo: A Star Wars Story (The Deluxe Edition)Coming soon in 2020 to digital exclusive streaming and digital purchase: over 2 hours of original/unedited music from Solo: A Star Wars Story [as written for the film] All cues + the original unedited version of the end credits suite!”

This is indeed exciting news. The score for Solo: A Star Wars Story remains one of the better efforts to come out of the recent batch of Star Wars flicks thanks to its exuberant style, luscious themes, and rip-roaring action music. John Williams wrote the main theme for the Han Solo character, but Powell, an under-appreciated composer if there ever was one, is credited with the bulk of the music.

Directed by Ron Howard, the fun-filled galactic heist movie stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Paul Bettany. Joonas Suotamo returns to play Chewbacca.

Written by Jonathan Kasdan & Lawrence Kasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur, and Simon Emanuel. Lawrence Kasdan, Jason McGatlin, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller are executive producers.

To create the unique look of the film, some of the industry’s top talent was recruited, including Academy Award nominee Bradford Young, director of photography; two-time Academy Award-winning editor Pietro Scalia; Dominic Tuohy, special effects supervisor; Rob Bredow, visual effects supervisor; and John Powel, score composed and adapted by.

They are joined by returning Star Wars veteran crew members: Neil Lamont, production designer; Neal Scanlan, special creature effects; David Crossman and Glyn Dillon, costume designers; Jamie Wilkinson, prop master; Lisa Tomblin-Fitzpatrick, hair designer; and Amanda Knight, makeup designer.

In 1970, the Miss World competition took place in London, hosted by US comedy legend, Bob Hope. At the time, Miss World was the most-watched TV show on the planet with over 100 million viewers. Claiming that beauty competitions demeaned women, the newly formed Women’s Liberation Movement achieved overnight fame by invading the stage and disrupting the live broadcast of the competition. Not only that, when the show resumed, the result caused uproar: the winner was not the Swedish favorite but Miss Grenada, the first black woman to be crowned Miss World. In a matter of hours, a global audience had witnessed the patriarchy driven from the stage and the Western ideal of beauty turned on its head.

David Byrne’s American Utopia is a one-of-a-kind dynamic film that gives audiences access to Byrne’s electrifying Broadway show that played to sold-out, record-breaking audiences during its run from October 2019 to February 2020 at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre. In this unifying musical celebration that inspires audiences to connect to each other and to the global community, the former Talking Heads frontman and his band of 11 musical artists from around the world perform hits from across Byrne’s career, including songs from his 2018 album of the same name and classics like “This Must Be the Place” and “Everybody’s Coming To My House,” as well as a cover of Janelle Monáe’s “Hell You Talmbout.”

As Byrne and company sing, dance, and play their way across the glittering gray stage, they welcome audiences into a joyous dreamworld where openness, optimism, faith in humanity, and social justice are paramount. Peppering these musical numbers with brief monologues that help communicate his message, Byrne touches on various sociopolitical topics – police brutality, voter turnout, climate change, immigration – and challenges us to come together and grapple with these issues right here, right now. Finally, Byrne insists that we not only show up to the polls, but that we truly embrace the possibility of change.

“Not just in the imperfect world out there,” he says, but in ourselves, too.

Robertson is attached as Jenna, a hypersensitive girl who suffers from “misphonia,” an abhorrence of sound, and sets out for Los Angeles when she learns her mother is about to send her back to the “Farm.”

In Run, they say you can never escape a mother’s love… but for Chloe, that’s not a comfort — it’s a threat. There’s something unnatural, even sinister about the relationship between Chloe (Allen) and her mom, Diane (Paulson). Diane has raised her daughter in total isolation, controlling every move she’s made since birth, and there are secrets that Chloe’s only beginning to grasp. From the visionary writers, producers, and director of the breakout film Searching, comes a suspense thriller that shows that when mom gets a little too close, you need to RUN.

“We’re super excited audiences will get to stream Run on Hulu, a platform that’s really committed to giving the movie the same, big splash that was always intended for it,” Chaganty previously said in a statement. “Plus, the film is about a girl who’s been quarantined at home her whole life; watching it the same way should be a fitting experience in 2020.”

Chaganty co-wrote the screenplay with his Searching co-writer Sev Ohanian. The project is produced by Ohanian and Natalie Qasabian.

The movie was initially set for a May 8 release but was delayed along with many other titles due to the ongoing global pandemic. A new Hulu premiere date has not yet been announced. Run will reportedly also be released theatrically in select international markets.

According to Deadline, Academy Award nominee Carey Mulligan (An Education) has signed on for the leading role in Bradley Cooper’s next directorial project titled Maestro, centering around the marriage between award-winning composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife, actress Felicia Montealegre. On top of directing, the Oscar-nominated actor will also be starring in the upcoming Netflix film with Mulligan set to portray the role of Felicia.

“I was struck by Carey ever since I saw her on stage many years ago and I haven’t missed a performance of hers since,” Cooper said in a statement. “I am humbled to be working with such a mammoth talent, as well as such a kind person in Carey.”

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Carey Mulligan will play our mother in Maestro,” one of the children of Leonard and Felicia Bernstein, Jamie Bernstein said. “Carey will surely capture Felicia’s unique combination of wit, warmth, elegant beauty, and depth of emotion. We also love the way Carey conveys a kind of storybook European grace, which was something our mother embodied as well.”

Maestro will span over 30 years in telling the beautifully complex story of the marriage between Bernstein and his wife, Felicia Montealegre. Bernstein’s colorful life included making a memorable conducting debut at the New York Philharmonic at 25 when the conductor took ill. Without even rehearsing, Bernstein did so well his star was launched the next day when his feat made the front page of the New York Times. He was blacklisted before being cleared of being a communist just before he composed the Oscar-nominated score for On the Waterfront, and he was an activist in the civil rights movement, and outspoken on issues including ending the Vietnam War.

Cooper’s main focus on the project has always been the “charged and complex relationship” between Bernstein and Montealegre. The star and filmmaker has reportedly been working closely with Bernstein’s children Jamie, Alexander, and Nina, over the past couple of years.
