Marvel Entertainment has announced that they will be presenting a brand new documentary special for Disney+ titled Marvel’s Behind the Mask, which is scheduled to debut on Friday, February 12, 2021. Centering on the importance of a Superhero and villain’s identity, the special will feature fan-favorite heroes such as Miles Morales, Ms. Marvel, Black Panther and more.

Marvel’s Behind the Mask will feature guests from across Marvel’s 80-year legacy, including the writers and artists behind the rise of characters like Black Panther, Miles Morales, Ms. Marvel, Luke Cage, the X-Men, Captain Marvel, and many other characters in the Marvel Universe, highlighting Marvel’s impact on pop culture and media.
The official synopsis for the documentary special reads: “From the very inception of comic books, secret identities have been an integral part of both Super Heroes and Villains leading “normal” lives. But it’s the characters beneath that resonate within us across generations of fans. Since the advent of the Marvel Age of Comics in the early 1960s, Marvel’s writers and artists have used the notion of identities to examine the evolving concept of equal rights. These legendary Marvel creations and stories have not only reflected the world outside our window – they have become a reflection of our own identities and who we truly are.”

The documentary is directed by Michael Jacobs. It is produced by Chris Gary and Ryan Simon for Tarmac Creative and Strike Anywhere. Joe Quesada, Shane Rahmani, Stephen Wacker, John Cerilli, Harry Go, and Sarah Amos of Marvel New Media are executive producing.

Marvel fans rejoice! Chris Hemsworth took to Instagram to reveal that he expects to begin shooting Thor: Love and Thunder this week. You can check out his post below.

Academy Award winner Matt Damon is reportedly joining the cast of Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated fourth Thor film after he was seen recently arriving in Australia with his family. The 50-year-old actor previously had a cameo role in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok as he portrayed the play version of Loki. Should his casting be confirmed by the studio, it’s still unclear if Damon would be playing the same role or a much more important character.
It was previously reported that Chris Pratt has signed on to join Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Love and Thunder, with Vin Diesel also confirmed to appear in Taika Waititi’s upcoming MCU film. Their official casting shouldn’t actually come as a shock with Diesel previously teasing earlier this year that “Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Thor: Love and Thunder will be directed by Waititi (Jojo Rabbit) on a script co-written by him and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great), which will be the follow-up to Waititi’s wildly successful 2017 sequel Thor: Ragnarok. Oscar-winner Natalie Portman is set to return as Jane and will now be wielding the mighty Mjolnir. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will also return as Thor and Valkyrie, respectively. Academy Award winner Christian Bale (The Dark Knight trilogy) will portray Gorr the God Butcher, the main antagonist in the film. The female Thor storyline is based on Jason Aaron’s run on “The Mighty Thor” in which a cancer-stricken Jane Foster takes up the mantle and powers of Thor.
Thor and Valkyrie were last seen in the highest-grossing film of all time Avengers: Endgame, with the god of thunder entrusting his responsibilities as the King of Asgard to Valkyrie as he joins the Guardians of the Galaxy on their next mission.

The marketing for Zack Snyder’s Justice League is about to go full throttle and to kick things off DC Shop has unveiled three t-shirts featuring Darkseid in all of his glory. This is seemingly the big bad’s final look once he matures from Uxas to the proper, armor-clad villain fans know and love from the comics. What do you think? Seems like a lot of marketing for a character who has little more than a cameo in the film … Anyways, you can check out the shirts below!
RELATED: Harry Lennix Reveals He is Martian Manhunter in Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Justice League will be hitting HBO Max solely as a four-hour movie. It was originally revealed at DC FanDome that the movie will release on HBO Max in 2021 by being broken up into four one-hour parts that will also be released as one four-hour film, but Snyder’s new comments seem to indicate it will solely be released as the one-off film instead of the four-part series. In an informal Q&A with the director via the comments, Snyder also revealed that there will be no after-credits scenes, the release date is still set for March even as potential competition Godzilla vs. Kong just moved to the same month and its runtime is four hours prior to the credits.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will reportedly cost around $70 million in order to properly finish the editing and visual effects of the director’s original vision, as well as the additional photography. The original post-production crew is also expected to return along with the cast members to record additional dialogue for the cut.
Fueled by the hero’s restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Justice League sees Bruce Wayne enlist the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League, which features a screenplay from Chris Terrio from a story by Snyder and Terrio, stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, with J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

After seeing original male lead Armie Hammer (Death on the Nile) step away from the project due to an ongoing social media controversy, Lionsgate’s Jennifer Lopez-co-led Shotgun Wedding is moving forward as the studio has entered early negotiations with Josh Duhamel (Buddy Games) to take over the part, according to Deadline.
RELATED: Armie Hammer Exits Jennifer Lopez-Co-Led Shotgun Wedding
The timing of Hammers’ departure came on the heels of a series of social media DMs detailing sexually controversial behavior allegedly from his account have been leaked. While the messages have yet to be verified as his, sources report that members of Hammer’s team have been working to drum up support for the actor around Hollywood and assure those that he did not send such messages.
Shotgun Wedding centers on Darcy (Lopez) and Tom as they gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. If that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage and “Til Death Do Us Part” takes on a whole new meaning as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones — if they don’t kill each other first.
The film will be directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) from a screenplay co-written by Mark Hammer (Two Night Stand) and Liz Meriwether (Single Parents, Bless This Mess). The studio is eyeing a production start early this year.

Shotgun Wedding is set to be produced by Mandeville’s Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman, who previously worked with Lionsgate for Wonder and are currently attached to produce Under Cover, Rabbids and White Bird: A Wonder Story at the studio. The duo will produce alongside Nuyorican Productions’ Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina, with Alex Young executive producing for Mandeville, Courtney Baxter for Nuyorican and Ryan Reynolds & George Dewey.

Following Vision’s death in Avengers: Infinity War, Paul Bettany was one of the few actors who didn’t return for Avengers: Endgame. Regardless, Bettany is currently back in WandaVision, even if it isn’t clear how Vision returned. But in a new interview with IMDb (via IGN), Bettany revealed that he shot a post-credits scene for Endgame. However, the footage didn’t end up in the final film (via SuperHeroHype).
“At one point there was going to be a tag, where [Scarlet Witch] opened a sort of body bag drawer and there was the Vision,” Bettany explained in the ‘Ask Each Other Anything’ session. “[Marvel Studios boss] Kevin [Feige] kind of talked to me and said, ‘I’ve got to pull the shots.’ And I was like, ‘Ugh!’ Because I really wanted that profit participation!”

Fortunately, Bettany reunited with his co-star, Elizabeth Olsen, on WandaVision. Marvel Studios’ first original series for Disney+ has thrust Wanda Maximoff and Vision into a sitcom-inspired world. For now, all we have are theories. Presumably, answers will be forthcoming in the next few episodes of the series. Hopefully, Vision will still be alive by the end!
Do you think that Paul Bettany’s post-credits scene should have stayed in Avengers: Endgame? Let us know in the comment section below!

Ahead of its wider spring release and in time for its premiere on the streaming service, Arrow Video has provided ComingSoon.net with an exclusive clip from Patrick Picard’s chilling horror-mystery pic The Bloodhound, which can be viewed in the player below!
RELATED: Exclusive Don’t Tell a Soul Clip Starring Rainn Wilson & Jack Dylan Grazer
First-time feature director Patrick Picard brings a fresh take to one of the best-known stories from the master of mystery and the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher, in his new slow-burner horror-thriller The Bloodhound, a hauntingly atmospheric tale.
Francis (Liam Aiken, A Series of Unfortunate Events), a dispossessed young man, is summoned to the secluded home of his wealthy childhood friend, JP Luret (Joe Adler, The Maze Runner), who is suffering from a mysterious affliction. Upon his arrival, Francis realizes that JP and his ethereal twin sister Vivian (Annalise Basso, Ouija: Origin of Evil) are the sole surviving members of the privileged Luret family, whose legacy has been one of depression and self-destruction, and the only occupants of their family estate. As the old friends attempt to reconnect, a number of inexplicable incidents begin to occur within the house, and Francis finds himself drawn into a world of malaise and despair, where an act of betrayal might provide his only way out.
From Leal Naim and Thomas R. Burke, producers of The Endless and Synchronic, The Bloodhound leads you on a journey exploring themes that are as relevant to today as ever before, such as the yearning for emotional connection, the perils of social isolation and the fragility of mental health.
