Sam Neill teases original characters’ major roles in Jurassic World: Dominion

Last year, it was officially confirmed that Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are set to reprise their iconic roles as Dr. Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm in Colin Trevorrow’s upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion. Since then, fans of the franchise have been very excited to see how their characters will be integrated to the new storyline with a few of them also worrying that the trio would only just make a brief appearance like what Goldblum did in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

However, in recent in interview with Yahoo, Neill has opened up about his return to the Jurassic franchise, teasing that the original stars’ participation in the highly-anticipated third installment to the Jurassic World is more than just a cameo. He has confirmed that viewers will get to see more of the Jurassic Park trio throughout the upcoming film.

“We’re all the way through the film, Jeff [Goldblum], and me, and Laura [Dern]” Neill said and also admittedly joked that he “probably won’t be running quite as fast as I was 27 years ago!”

The film is scheduled to resume its production in the UK next week after it had been temporarily suspended for the past three months. Neill also revealed three cast members are already in quarantine and is hoping he could finally join them in “about ten days.”

He added, “We’re all going to be living in the same joint for three or four months, so that’s going to be fun. And everybody loves Chris and Bryce as well, so I think we’ll be a very happy bunch.”

Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow return to executive produce Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World: Dominion, with Trevorrow once again directing the next chapter in one of the biggest franchises in the history of cinema. Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again partner with Spielberg and Trevorrow in leading the filmmakers for this installment.

The upcoming threequel will be starring returning cast members from the first two Jurassic World films include Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith as well as original Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Campbell Scott. It will also feature Mamoudou Athie (Sorry for You Loss), DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It), Dichen Lachman (Animal Kingdom, Altered Carbon), Scott Haze (Venom, Antlers).

Joining the Jurassic team for the first time is Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising, The Black Hole), who will craft the Jurassic World 3 screenplay with Trevorrow. They will work off a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow, who together co-wrote Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Jurassic World: Dominion is currently set to debut in theaters on June 11, 2021.

Made in Italy Trailer Starring father-son duo Liam Neeson & Micheál Richardson

IFC Films has released the official trailer for English actor James D’Arcy’s upcoming directorial debut film titled Made in Italy, featuring real-life father and son Liam Neeson and Micheál Richardson as their characters try to fix their strained relationship by renovating their Tuscany house following the death of the family’s beloved matriarch. Made In Italy is a heart-warming father son story set in glorious Tuscany about bohemian London artist Robert, who returns to Italy with his estranged son Jack to make a quick sale of the house they inherited from his late wife. Neither expects to find the once beautiful villa in such a state of disrepair…

Renovations go badly, with father and son soon finding themselves at odds. Robert’s comical lack of DIY experience leads him to seek help from some colourful locals including the no nonsense Kate, an ex-pat making her living selling villas who quickly captures his attention. For Jack, the state of the house seems to mirror his search for memories of happier times with his mother. He soon falls for Natalia, a vivacious young Italian chef, who restores both body and soul with delights from her local trattoria – until the pair find their developing relationship in jeopardy from Natalia’s jealous and threatening ex-husband. As Robert and Jack painstakingly restore the villa to its previous glory, they also start to mend their relationship. The future may now look quite different and surprise them both.

It will be broadcast via a private YouTube link that will be sent to ticket purchasers an hour prior to showtime, with a percentage of the proceeds from the event set to be donated to the NAACP Empowerment Programs, which engage primarily in training, education and advocacy at the national and local levels.

“If you’ve been social distancing yourself from Glen or Glenda, Trace and I are giving the all-clear to watch this classic film,” Conniff said in a statement. “Of all the movies we’ve riffed, from MST3K to Cinematic Titanic and our own live shows, this is our favorite. Join us!”

“Glen or Glenda might be the worst movie ever made but it is also a film with great heart and compassion for the subject matter,” Beaulieu added in a statement. “I could be wrong. I’ve only seen it 50 times.”

Mystery Science Theater 3000 has its roots in Minneapolis, when it premiered on local affiliate KTMA-TV (now WUCW) on November 24, 1988. Comedian Joel Hodgson created and starred in the TV show, which found him playing a janitor in the “not-too-distant future” imprisoned aboard The Satellite of Love, forced to watch a series of bad movies in an effort to drive Joel and his robot friends insane. The show was eventually picked up by Comedy Central and later the Sci-Fi Channel, before being rebooted by Hodgson in 2017 for Netflix.

Beaulieu, who also provided the voice of “Crow T. Robot” during the show’s initial run, portrayed evil mad scientist “Dr. Clayton Forrester,” while Conniff acted as Forrester’s lab assistant and sidekick, known as “TV’s Frank.” Both Beaulieu and Conniff were writers on the show and have continued to collaborate since leaving MST3K, as members of the similarly-themed live show Cinematic Titanic, and also as co-hosts of the weekly movie podcast Movie Sign with The Mads.

In 2015, Beaulieu and Conniff began touring movie theaters throughout the country as The Mads Are Back, offering their signature brand of quick-witted commentary (known to MST3K fans as “riffing”) over numerous B-movies.

Glen or Glenda, named by critic Leonard Maltin as “possibly the worst movie ever made,” is Ed Wood’s semi-autobiographical docudrama which follows Glen (portrayed by Wood), a man who wrestles with his desire to cross-dress as his alter-ego, Glenda. The film, which opens with a bizarre performance by horror legend Bela Lugosi, has been ridiculed for its cheap production values and nonsensical narrative ever since its release. The troubled production of Glen or Glenda was chronicled in Tim Burton’s 1994 film Ed Wood.

The Mads will also be conducting a Q&A with fans after the screening for as long as time allows. Tickets for The Mads Are Back: Glen or Glenda are on sale now for $10!

First trailer for David Ayer’s The Tax Collector revealed!

After acquiring the latest crime thriller from the Training Day screenwriter in May, RLJE Films has revealed the first trailer for David Ayer’s latest project The Tax Collector starring Bobby Soto (The Quarry) and Shia LaBeouf (Honey Boy). The trailer can be viewed in the player below!

The film follows David (Bobby Soto, Narcos: Mexico) and Creeper (LaBeouf), “tax collectors” for the Los Angeles crime lord Wizard who collect his cut of the profits from local gangs’ illicit dealings. When Wizard’s old rival returns to the City of Angels, the business is upended and David is put in a fight to protect his family.

“We are lucky to have an amazing caliber of actors and writer/director David Ayer on The Tax Collector,” Mark Ward, Chief Acquisitions Officer of RLJE Films, previously said in a statement. “Audiences will be awed and entertained by the talent they will see on the screen with this intense, edge-of-your-seat thriller.”

Ayer revealed he’s “very excited” to work with the AMC Networks-owned distributor, feeling that their past and current slate of projects “reflect their singular vision and desire to push the bounds of creative storytelling.” The studio is reportedly looking to bring the film to theaters this August.

The Transformers star and director previously worked together on the 2014 war drama Fury and LaBeouf is set to be joined by Bobby Soto (For the People), Lana Parilla (Once Upon a Time), George Lopez (Lopez) and Brendan Schaub (The Fighte & the Kid). Ayer, whose most recent work was the hit Netflix fantasy crime-thriller Bright and has co-written the script for the sequel, is directing based on an original script.

Production officially began on the film in July 2018, with LaBeouf having just come off of the autobiographical drama Honey Boy in which he wrote and stars as a character based on his father alongside Lucas Hedges (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) and Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) portraying versions of LaBeouf.

Zachary Levi to play Kurt Warner in Lionsgate’s American Underdog

The film, which is being based on interviews with Warner and his memoir, “All Things Possible: My Story of Faith, Football and the First Miracle Season,” is set to be directed by Jon and Andrew Erwin (I Can Only Imagine, I Still Believe) and will chronicle the true story of Warner, who went from stocking shelves at a supermarket to become a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP and Hall of Fame quarterback.

“Kurt’s story is one of relentless faith – in his own abilities but even more so in a higher power,” Levi said in a statement. “When I read Kurt’s story, I identified with the quiet strength he found to persevere – that’s something I think anybody can recognize in their own lives. This is the kind of underdog story that sports movies are all about, and the fact that it’s true makes it even more special. I’m thrilled to be part of bringing his story to audiences.”

The biopic is being penned by David Aaron Cohen (Friday Night Lights) and the Erwin Brothers, who are also attached to produce the project via their Kingdom banner alongside Mark Ciardi (Invincible, The Rookie) and Kevin Downes, with Kurt and wife Brenda Warner attached to co-produce.

“Zachary was our first and only choice,” Jon Erwin said in a statement. “He brings a combination of humble charm and charisma as well as an intense physicality to the role. “This is about an everyman who never let his dream die,” Andre Erwin added. “Zachary was born to play this role – and when you add in his uncanny resemblance to Kurt Warner, we’re thrilled to be working with him.”

American Underdog marks the third film to be greenlit by Lionsgate in the past year, with Jim Miller and Chelsea Kujawa overseeing the project for the studio. It also marks the second film Levi has joined for the studio this year after signing on to star alongside Cole Sprouse (Riverdale) in the music comedy Under Cover.

WB unveils new poster art for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet

Though fans were just hit with the sad news that Christopher Nolan’s Tenet had been hit with yet another delay in its theatrical release, Warner Bros. is trying to keep anticipation high for the mysterious blockbuster with a mind-bending new poster, which can be viewed below, and a new IMAX poster can be viewed in the gallery below!

The most recent Tenet trailer arrived stamped with the tag, “Coming to theaters,” though copy within the YouTube video continued to push the July 17 release. And while everyone at Warner Bros. remained optimistic situations will improve enough for them to release the film and NATO recently confirmed theaters would be open in time, it appears Warner Bros. would rather be safe than sorry by delaying the film by two weeks. Tenet’s success was set to pave the way for other planned releases, including Disney’s Mulan remake on July 24 and Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman 1984 on August 14, but now that it has been pushed back to August, it’s unclear what will be the next big theatrical success of 2020.

The film is written by Nolan and will utilize a mixture of IMAX and 70mm film, which is something he’s become famous for.

Tenet stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy and Himesh Patel.

The director first made an impact in 2001 with his indie film Memento. His next film, Insomnia, was also a modest hit. but it wasn’t until Batman Begins hit theaters in 2005 that Nolan became a box office force in his own right. The Prestige was Nolan’s last movie to gross under $200 million worldwide. His other films include The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Interstellar, and Dunkirk.

Nolan is producing Tenet along with his partner Emma Thomas and is currently slated for an August 12 release.

On Thursday, June 2 Vice Press will be launching their newest line of prints: Vice Press Editions. Vice Press Editions is a collection of open edition prints, taking the pressure off of having to wait for a limited edition drop and giving everyone who wants one plenty of time to pick a copy up. Each print released will be available for an extended period, with plenty of notice ahead of them going out of print. That’s 594x420mm or 16.5×23.4 inches, making it easier to get off the shelf frames, or custom frames much more affordable. Each movie poster will also be priced at just £29.99 ($37.37 US).

Occasionally Vice will also be releasing some smaller art prints to coincide with the movie posters, and for this release Matt has designed 3 5x5inch art cards featuring Silent Running’s Huey, Dewey and Louie! This set will cost just £14.99 ($18.68 US) and will be available as long as Matt’s Silent Running is in print.

For The Thing, Patrick Connan has designed two amazing new posters, each capturing key iconography from the movie. These are some of the best posters for The Thing yet!

Mortal Trailer: Nat Wolff stars in André Øvredal’s superhero film

Signature Entertainment has released the official trailer for André Øvredal’s upcoming fantasy superhero film titled Mortal, featuring Nat Wolff as a Norwegian-American teenage boy who is trying his best to control his unknown god-like superpowers. Based on ancient Norse Mythology, Mortal is a fantasy adventure epic that is being described as a fusion of previous superhero films such as Chronicle, X-Men and Thor. It will follow the story of a young boy, who must discover the origins of his extraordinary powers before he is captured by authorities hell-bent on con-demning him for an accidental murder. A breath-taking and thrilling origins adventure story.

His upcoming projects are Amblin’s The Last Voyage of the Demeter and Stephen King’s The Long Walk film adaptation.

Chiwetel Ejiofor excited for Sam Raimi’s new take on Doctor Strange 2

Following the confirmation of Chiwetel Ejiofor’s return as Mordo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Oscar-nominated actor has opened up about the highly-anticipated MCU film. Speaking with Games Radar, Ejiofor has expressed his excitement to work with Sam Raimi for the first time as he praises the Spider-Man director’s unique way of storytelling.

“I love Sam Raimi, so I’m very excited that he’s making a film, the second Doctor Strange,” Ejiofor said. “He brings to anything he does a wealth of imagination and passion. In this genre he’s just one of the seminal figures. I remember seeing ‘Darkman’ when I was a kid. It was beyond, it’s so amazing.” 

He continued, “So I think he has an incredible mind and I think he’s really able to bring that mind into his storytelling in a really unique way, and it’s very suited to the world that’s been created by Doctor Strange, and I’m very excited to see what he does with that world.”

Ejiofor is officially the first cast member of the sequel to address Raimi’s involvement, who took on the directing duties after Scott Derrickson’s sudden exit as the upcoming film’s director due to creative differences with the studio.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is being described as the first horror film in the MCU with Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch returning as the titular sorcerer supreme and Elizabeth Olsen also appearing as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. According to Kevin Feige, the upcoming Disney+ shows WandaVision and Loki will both directly impact the events the Doctor Strange sequel.

Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch recently appeared in this year’s highest-grossing film of all time, Avengers: Endgame, where they were both last seen attending Tony Stark’s funeral. Loki also appeared in Endgame and was last seen after the events of the Avengers’ first battle in New York, where he escapes with the Tesseract cube.

Originally set to be directed by Scott Derrickson, the sequel will now be helm by Spider-Man‘s Sam Raimi with Loki head writer Michael Waldron set to rewrite the script that was first written by The Turning scribe Jade Bartlett. Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Benedict Wong will be reprising their roles, with Rachel McAdams not expected to return to her role of Dr. Christine Palmer.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit theaters on March 25, 2022.

The first Doctor Strange movie was released in 2016 with Benedict Cumberbatch starring in the titular role. Joining him in the film were Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West. It also featured the MCU debut of critical characters from the pages of Marvel Comics, including Benedict Wong as Wong, plus Mads Mikkelsen as villain Kaecilius, and Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One (who is of Celtic origin in the film instead of East Asian origin). Doctor Strange was directed by Scott Derrickson, whose previous credits were primarily horror films like The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister, and Deliver Us from Evil.
